Salaam Parents,

I have not sent home a new reading log. However, please help your child keep the habit of reading each night.

Homework: There will not be any homework for Monday or Tuesday.

Absent: I will not be in class tomorrow. I apologize for this.

Yearbooks: The yearbooks have arrived today. There are a lot of photos of the 2nd graders. You may purchase a copy for $45. The book has 144 pages! It’s very nice

Class Ceremony: We will be having a fun award ceremony in the class on Friday, May 18 at 11:00 am. All parents are invited!!!

Students will be sharing a few letters and poems. I have sent the information with your child on Friday.

Class Ceremony Change of Date: We will be having a fun award ceremony in the class on Friday, May 18 at 11:00 am.  All parents are invited!!!

I apologize for the change here. A few parents have reminded me that the Montessori ceremony was during the same time as mine on Tuesday. So in order for everyone to be able to attend the second grade class one I have changed ours to Friday at 11:00. It will be early release next Friday and 12:10.

Students will be sharing a few letters and poems. I will be sending home more information by Monday.

Homework for Thursday: Please complete the 3 Math workbook pages. The page numbers are written in the students blue folders.

Thanks to all of the parents who were present during Creative Theatre today. Students were very excited about free dress day and about the plays. 

Homework: Please complete the Math workbook pages listed on the sheet that’s in the blue folder. 

New Reading Log: The new reading log is in the blue folder.

Good-Bye Letter:  I will be giving each student a letter style paper tomorrow in the blue folder. Your child will have to write a good-bye letter to me on this paper. I will be combining all of the student letters to create a book for each student. Students will get this book on the last day of school.  My letters will be in here as well. I will miss this class very very much!!!!

Homework: Please complete Lesson 18.4 and Lesson 18.5 (pages 97-98) in the Math workbook.  Please complete pages RS84-RS85 in the Science Workbooks. Please bring both workbooks back to class tomorrow. Please use the Science textbooks to complete the Science homework pages in the workbooks. It’s Lesson 1 in Chapter 11

Science Textbooks: Students have take their Science textbooks home today. Please keep the Science textbooks at home to review for the Science test which will be on Friday.

Science Test: There will be a Science Test on Chapter 10 on Friday, May 4. Please review at home on Wednesday and Thursday night.

Reading Logs: These are in the blue folders.

Math Test, Spelling Tests, Vocabulary Tests, and Oral Speeches: All of these are graded and in the blue folder today. Please review with your child at home.

There isn’t any homework for tonight. Majority of the day was spent in the Masjid for Arabic Day. 

Reading Logs: I will give a new reading log to the class tomorrow. I still have the blue folders in class. I will return these tomorrow. I apologize for not being able to return these today.

Science Test: There will be a Science Test on Chapter 10 on Friday, May 4. The students will bring their books home tomorrow to review for the test.

Math Test: There will be a Math Test on Chapter 17 on Friday, April 27,2011. We will complete the chapter by Thursday and have a short review on Friday before the test.

Spelling and Vocabulary Tests: Please help your child study the spelling and vocabulary words tonight. The test will be tomorrow.

MyGradebook: I will be updating the grade-book by Friday evening.

Scissors and Glue: Please ask your child if they have a small scissor and glue in class. The class  will be needing their individual scissor and glue in class on Friday. Please have your child bring one from home if they do not have one in class. Thanks!

Donations: It would be appreciated if anyone could please donate a few hand sanitizes, chloral wipes, and pencils. This is not mandatory. It’s optional. Thanks!

Math Test: There will be a Math Test on Chapter 16 tomorrow. Please review the workbook pages at home today. Lessons beginning at 16.1.

Homework for Thursday: Students have their blue high frequency folder in the regular blue folder.  There is a sheet in the high frequency folder that has writing topics listed on it. Please have your child choose one topic from the list. Your child needs to write about that topic in the folder. Go to the first writing sheet available. This will be graded and used as a writing and penmanship grade. 

Earth Day: Earth Day celebration is tomorrow. You are welcome to come to school at 11:10 to have lunch with your child. Please bring a blanket to sit on and your own lunch. If you are not coming to the picnic please send a small blanket with your child so that he/she has a blanket to sit on.

PTA: Thanks to all who have voted  It’s still not too late to send your vote with your child. Tomorrow is the last day.

Earth Day: Earth Day celebration will be this Friday. Please see the flyer that was sent home with your child today.

PTA: I request you all to please vote for me for PTA President. You may send your vote with your child in an sealed envelope with your name on it. You may also come and fill out the paper in the office. The papers are on Ms. Shazia’s desk.  As fas as I know only a few students from the class actually voted. Please provide your support for me

I apologize for not giving the students the reading log today. I will give this to them tomorrow and I have excused the Monday’s reading in the reading log.

Math Test: There will be a Math Test on Chapter 16 on Friday, April 20, 2012.

Health: Please ask the students about the circulatory system. They should be able to tell you what are blood vessels and what they do, what the heart is, and how can the students keep their hearts healthy.

We will be learning something new each Monday for health.

Homework for Monday: Please complete the Mixed Review on the last two pages that were completed in class today for chapter 15.
